Got the headlights. They're ok. But still yellow looking. Only the light on the road is white. Also, it's directed forward. Not directed forward and to the sides. worth the money just as a spare or something. But not really good if you want pure white lights.

Ordered some Osram this morning though Smiley

Bought some osram nightbreakers and fitted them but they still look yellow to me.  Sad

Took an hour and a half to fit them though (see moans and groans section for details)

i received the osram cool blue 4000k ones today.
slightly yellow as according to kelvin scale 4000k is borderline yellow/white.
so now i have sidelights that are brighter than my headlights.

Yeah the osrams and the rings aren't blue-white, they are whiter than the standard bulbs but not as blue-white as the blue cheaper bulbs, i suppose though its personal preference in which to use, i went for the osrams which are a bit whiter and a lot brighter.

Iv been using them with my led sidelights for quite a few months now and havent had any problems (touch wood) and look perfectly fine.

Are they brighter than the normal bulbs? and how much whiter/"bluer" are they than the normal bulbs?

I got these ones:

quite a lot brighter in my oppinion.

they still seem yellow ish on dipped beam, but looking at them when on hi beam they look whiter.
couldnt really compare them to the standards when i fitted them as had halfords extreme brilliance bulbs fitted.

but seriously considering going down the HID route

Yeah mine are the same a lot brighter and more white on high beam.

I was thinking about an HID kit but they cost too much and it would never be road legal even though the LC (not sure about the X3) has self leveling headlights.

Osram's still look yellow, but have a blue tint in my lights. Might be due to my side light bulbs but they're not blue, just white. So I have no idea why there's blue coming through.
