Accents: Good looking cars. But try and buy parts for them and you either get ripped off or it doesn't work! :@

I've had two X3 MVI's, both with the same engine ... but I must warn you that from past experience, there are actually three different MVI engines.

Below is a pic of my previous X3 MVI's engine bay - it had a CAI fitted, magnecore ignition leads, and the spark plug cover removed ... but I'm pretty sure you can figure out what a stock one looks like.  I havn't modded my current X3 MVI's engine, so can get a pic of that if you really want, but it's the same engine model

Slightly Modified 1999 Hyundai Accent MVI engine ("G4FK" engine code)...

Well my current X3 MVI is stock looking apart from the strut brace - so I could try and get a pic of that for you (won't take one in the dark as it'll look all over-exposed and shadowy) - if it's a G4FK engine there are no sensors in the airbox as it uses a MAP sensor and not a MAF - hence doesn't need a temperature sensor in the airbox Wink

OK mate - will try and get one tomorrow if I get a chance (am working during daylight hours though - so it better not be raining when I get a chance for a break or I won't be able to get a pic).

However, it will be pretty much identical to my previous pic as it's exactly the same engine ... might need to restart the "Engine Bay Pictures" thread I tried a while back (with no luck) to see if I can get some useful pictures.

That's not a G4FK engine mate - for a start that bit in the pipe with an electrical plug on it is a MAF sensor.  The other loose sensor is the temperature sensor, which would have gone into the top of the air box (i.e. above the air filter).

If you want to fit an aftermarket cone filter, then you simply need to stick that temperature sensor into the intake pipeline before or after the MAF sensor.
